Our members will be participating in two events on this day. To thank first responders, we will be delivering cookies to New Hanover Police at Cape Fear Community College Campus and also Wilmington Fire Stations #2 and #7. If you interested in delivering cookies to a fire station or police department near you, we encourage you to do so on behalf of our Chapter and have your picture taken.

We will be joining together to make “Snack Packs” for NourishNC. NourishNC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to “Provide healthy food to hungry children, empowering them to succeed in the classroom and in their community.” Their goal is to enhance children’s health and well-being by preventing the devastating consequences of childhood hunger. They are committed to providing the community’s most vulnerable children with nutritious food.

We will meet as a Chapter at 5pm at Ann Moore’s house and together we plan to make about 75 snack packs to donate to this nonprofit organization. If you plan to attend and have a DAR t-shirt, please wear it! It’s a photo moment! Please join us for fun and sisterhood. We will take the snack packs to the food bank the next day for distribution in New Hanover County.
